preparation for quite some time, devoted to the influence that modern
technologies exert on entertainment-related expenses. As it turns out,

According to the analysts working for PricewaterhouseCoopers, within the
next four years the value of global media and the entertainment industry
will be incessantly growing, at a rate of about 7.3% per year. The
income from this sector, which amounted to 1.3 billion dollars last
year, will therefore have most likely increased to 1.8 billion by 2009.
The driving forces behind the dynamic growth of the entertainment sector
will be networked games – both those based on the Internet and those
making use of local wireless networks. Furthermore, major income will be
brought-in by on-line film rentals, distribution of music in digital
format and all sorts of gadgets related to mobile phones – Java games,
wallpapers, screen savers and polyphonic ring tones. The role of
portable and stationary consoles will be important too – especially
after the release of the next generation of these devices, which ought
to take place around 2006/2007.
